Clients are encouraged to send photographs and discuss projects (for no fee) via phone or email at which time a general scope of work and fees can be discussed.
In-person examination of the work(s) is required in order to produce a written treatment or project proposal.
The proposal will include an agreement outlining treatment options, terms and conditions, fees, and an estimated completion date: If the client approves she or he should sign the agreement and return it with a portion of the total cost indicated.
Progress updates will be provided as appropriate and the client will be notified of—and asked to acknowledge—all significant changes in cost, time, materials or outcome.
Final payment is due upon return of the object or completion of the project, as described in the proposal.
At that time, the client will receive a Conservation Report that includes a description and photographic record of all stages of work as well as recommendations for care, handling, storage and exhibition of treated objects.
Fees are based on daily rates or on a project basis. Materials and expenses, including travel, shipping, insurance, rental of any special equipment or workspace, may be an additional cost and will be outlined in the project proposal.
